SMS introduces JCO's training program
Posted September 27, 2014 by Ian Benedict Mia
Yesterday, the Executive Board (EB) of Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa SIkolohiya (SMS) introduced the Junior Officers' Committee (JCO) at M316. The JCO was organized in order to train the aspirants for the next set of members of the EB.
"Ito yung isa sa mga legacy natin sa mga susunod na officers, yung pagkakaroon ng successorship program [Having this successorship program is one of our legacies for the next batch of officers]," says SMS President Harvey Yulo. Throughout the years, he shares that it has been difficult looking for students willing to take up the EB positions.
For the training proper of the JCO, a series of workshops under the Documentations, Activities, Finance, Marketing and Alliances committees will be held throughout October to November. The aspirants will be required to attend each workshop. Depending on what particular committee they will excel in, that will become the basis as to what EB position they may possibly fill-in later on.
To gain a better understanding, the following are the different committees of SMS:
Pre-Activity Documentation
Post-Activity Documentation
Finance
External Alliances
Internal Alliances
Publicity
Publication
Sponsorship
Membership
AB-Academics
BS-Academics
Non-Academics
Currently, the EB is still deciding whether or not to open the program for SMS members.
