This week, June 16 - 20, Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Sikolohiya (SMS) is currently having its applicant interviews for the new set of executive committee officers. With over 90 applicants for this academic year, SMS sets the criteria based on the following: ability to lead, awareness of strengths and weaknesses, time and stress management, conceptualization of projects and interpersonal skills --- among some.

The committees open for application are as follows: AB Academics, BS Academics, Non-Academic, Pre-Activity Documentation, Post-Activity Documentation, Sponsorship, Membership, Publicity, Publication, Internal Alliances and External Alliances.

During the application period, the applicants were asked to choose the top two committees they wanted to become an officer in. SMS President Harvey Yulo says that although the applicants have applied for a particular committee, they may be redirected to a different committee where their knowledge and skills are more suited for. This was also done to ensure that there would not be too much officers in a single committee.

With SMS set out to produce new projects this year unlike from the ‘repetitive’ projects in the past years, the criteria for officers is set higher, and one of the key indicators the executive board looks for is the level of dedication and leadership that the applicants can exemplify.
